With the long holidays swiftly approaching, everyone is starting to plan just where it is that they want to spend their well-deserved vacation. For those of you who are considering visiting someplace where you can experience the cool sea breeze and fresh mountain air, might we suggest you consider Bali, Indonesia as your next travel destination?

Known for being a veritable Island Paradise, this tropical island in Indonesia’s archipelago has some of the most diverse landscapes on a singular island. Blessed with beautiful natural landscapes, you can find everything from wide-open fields and wild beaches to majestic mountains and exotic temples at this popular island destination.

Additionally, there’s just so many exciting things that you can do and gorgeous sights to see when you’re in Bali. If you’re a photography enthusiast or someone who just wants to add a pop of colour and excitement onto your Instagram account, check out these 8 spots in Bali that will guarantee to make your pictures look amazing.

Banyumala Twin Waterfalls

The stunning Banyumala Twin Waterfalls are located in the north of Bali – on the crater rim road between Munduk and the main highway from Singaraja to Denpasar. Despite being breathtakingly gorgeous and totally Instagram worthy, these twin waterfalls aren’t as frequently visited by tourists as compared to some of the other waterfalls the area – like the Gitgit waterfall.

Surrounded by lush trees, boulders and the twittering of wild birds, it takes about 15 to 20 minutes to walk down to the falls through the jungle – nothing too strenuous (plus the surrounding scenery is just pretty enough that you’d be hard-pressed not to want to take photos of the beautiful natural landscapes).

An added bonus is that since very few tourists make the effort to visit the Banyumala Twin Waterfalls, you could potentially have the whole place to yourself – making it possible to take as many fun and uninterrupted photos as you would like. To make sure that the memory of your visit stays fresh, you can even get on Pixajoy to create photo books, prints or a travel calendar.

Wanagiri Hidden Hill

Wanagiri Hidden Hill is located in the highlands of the village of Munduk and Wanagiri. Featuring an indescribably scenic watchpoint that offers visitors with breathtaking views of majestic mountains, lush green trees, and the vast expanses of Lake Buyan and Lake Tamblingan, this gem offers a treasure trove of photography opportunities to the discerning shutterbug.

Surrounded with an abundance of natural beauty and various fun and whimsical photo spots, such as the human-sized bird’s nest, the bow of a boat overlooking the lake, and a giant swing set (just to name a few!) Wanagiri Hidden Hill would make for the perfect spot to take dozens of interesting photos – maybe even enough to fill up a whole photo book!

Tanah Lot Temple

If you love taking nature and scenery shots, then a visit to the Tanah Lot Temple will have you going trigger happy for hours. Located approximately 25km from Denpasar, this unique sea temple offers visitors a mesmerising view of the Indian Ocean.

If you wanted to add a little drama and mystic to your Instagram feed, this place will definitely help! If you look at it from afar, the temple looks like it’s floating above the water; but upon closer inspection, you’ll be stunned to note that the whole structure was built solely on rock formations.

If you have an image that you’re practically proud of from your excursion to the Tanah Lot Temple, you may want to consider turning them into metal prints in order to bring the vividness of your Bali experience into you home.

Taman Soekasada Ujung

Another photographic spot in Bali is the famed water palace – Taman Sukasada Ujung. Located in the village of Seraya, the complex is the sister site of Tirta Gangga which was built by the late Raja of Karangasem in 1909.

Featuring a unique combination of Balinese and European architecture, the palace is set against Mount Agung and the eastern shoreline – giving it a regal appearance that wouldn’t look out of place on a travel postcard. The compound itself is surrounded by three large ponds as well as other historic structures – making it the perfect background for when you take your travel photos.
